This piece was from the Visual Poetry exhibit—October, 2003 at The Gallery at Avalon Island in Orlando, FL. I chronicled a month through the use of frozen journal entries and markings—reflecting on time, renewal, and change. The sound of water dripping from the ice added another sensory element. The remnant journal entries morphed via the water stains—similiar to a memory. The entries were later used for a piece that was on display in the City of Orlando, Mayor’s Gallery. Other entries were used for pieces five years later. The paper, the words, the shifts in material and meaning, were intended to speak to how a moment or memory is captured, released, and translated from mind to paper and from person to person.
